The Bears are conducting the second round of interviews for their general-manager job.

Patriots director of pro personnel Jason Licht returned to Halas Hall Thursday, and the other finalist for the job, Chiefs director of college scouting Phil Emery, is scheduled to have his second interview on Friday.

Speculation is that Emery is the front-runner for the job, which became available on Jan. 3, when Jerry Angelo was fired.

The Bears interviewed five candidates for the position last week. The Chargers' Jimmy Raye, the Giants' Marc Ross and Bears personnel director Tim Ruskell were not invited for second interviews.
