Jim Irwin, the longtime play-by-play announcer for the Packers, passed away over the weekend after a battle with kidney cancer. He was 77.

Irwin — who also announced Wisconsin Badgers and Milwaukee Bucks games — called Packers games from 1969-99. First, he worked alongside former Packers DE Lionel Aldridge before teaming up with legendary WR Max McGee for the final 20 years of his career.

He was named Wisconsin Sportscaster of the Year 10 times and is a member of the Packers' Hall of Fame and the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame.
