Deciding whether a change at left tackle is necessary will be one of the important tasks facing the Bears' next general manager.

J'Marcus Webb, a seventh-round pick in 2010, started all 16 games at left tackle last season after making 12 starts at right tackle during his rookie year. He went through some ups and downs and failed to put to rest any doubts about whether he will develop into a quality protector of QB Jay Cutler's blind side. Webb racked up 13 penalties — more than twice as many as he had in 2010 — and allowed 14 sacks, according to STATS, LLC.

If he isn't hired to be the Raiders' head coach, count on the evaluation from Bears offensive coordinator Mike Tice — who is expected to meet with the Raiders at the Senior Bowl next week — to be a major factor in determining the team's strategy for shoring up an offensive line that needs to improve.
