With nine 2012 draft picks, including two first-rounders, a Browns team that has gotten younger of late is clearly going to continue down that path as Cleveland tries to catch up in the AFC North. General manager Tom Heckert and president Mike Holmgren have made it clear that building the roster through the draft is the club's preferred plan, and more young talent will help improve the club's depth. That doesn't mean the Browns won't add to their core in free agency, with the offense seemingly more likely to be addressed considering the need on that side of the ball. "We don't want to go out and sign 10 free agents, but if there's a guy that we like and hopefully there is, we'll definitely go after him," Heckert said at season's end. The Browns ended the regular season with 14 rookies on the roster. Another six 2011 rookies were signed to futures contracts.
