Terrell Owens is back in football, but don't expect see him in the playoffs this coming Sunday.
The big-play wide receiver, who in 2010 suited up for the Bengals, tweeted a video on Wednesday to say that he is signing with Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League. Owens also will be part-owner of the team, which is based in Allen, Texas, about 25 miles from Dallas.
Owens ranks second all time in NFL history with 15,934 during his 15-year career with the 49ers, Eagles, Cowboys, Bills and Bengals. He suffered a knee injury last summer, and despite claiming to be healthy, no NFL team opted to sign him.
"Uh-oh, it's official," Owens said in the video. "It just went down. I'm headed back to Texas. That's right. IFL, here I come. Allen, Texas, here I come. I'm gonna be me. Allen, Texas, I'll see you in the end zone."
The IFL, a 16-team league, will begin its 2012 season on Feb. 25.
