The Jaguars are clearly all in on QB Blaine Gabbert, the 10th overall pick last April, who they hope will make significant strides in Year Two with better coaching and weapons. But how the club plans to address the backup QB situation will be an important story to monitor this offseason. Backup QB Luke McCown, who began last season as the starter before former head coach Jack Del Rio gave him the hook in Week Two during a ghastly, four-pick outing, is an unrestricted free agent. We hear McCown was a good influence on Gabbert and handled Del Rio's decision — which former owner Wayne Weaver later admitted was the wrong decision — gracefully. Still, it remains to be seen how the new coaching staff views McCown. If Jacksonville decides to go in a different direction, expect it to bring in another veteran to push Gabbert. Word is the Jaguars' selection of a QB in the later rounds of the upcoming draft for the new coaching staff to develop wouldn't be shocking.
