Months after his home was raided by police, Bengals WR Jerome Simpson has been indicted on drug charges. He is currently awaiting an arraignment date in Kenton (Kentucky) Circuit Court.
A 2.5-pound package of marijuana that was delivered to Simpson's home in September was intercepted by federal authorities, leading to an investigation of the receiver's home. Inside, they found more drugs, along with scales and smoking devices, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Simpson has been indicted on one count of trafficking marijuana in excess of eight ounces. The charge, if he is found guilty, could lead to a prison term of one to five years.
Simpson had a breakthrough season for the Bengals in 2011, finishing third on the team with 50 receptions and second with 725 yards.
