The Bears announced Monday that they conducted an interview for their general manager job earlier in the day.
Patriots director of pro personnel Jason Licht interviewed for the position, which has been open since Jan. 3 when Jerry Angelo was relieved of his duties. There are at least four other candidates for the job, including Tim Ruskell, who is running the Bears' personnel department on an interim basis. Chiefs director of college scouting Phil Emery, Chargers director of player personnel Jimmy Raye and Giants director of college scouting Marc Ross are the other candidates who will be interviewed.
Licht began his scouting career with the Dolphins in 1995. He has been the Patriots' director of pro personnel since 2009. He was a scout for New England from 1999-2001 and was promoted to assistant director of player personnel in 2002 before serving in the Eagles' and Cardinals' front offices.
