According to Les East of The Baton Rouge Advocate, LSU WR Rueben Randle is joining teammates Morris Claiborne and Michael Brockers in the 2012 NFL draft. While Randle was not present at the press conference featuring Claiborne, Brockers and head coach Les Miles on Thursday, Randle's father said later in a telephone interview with The Advocate that his son had filed the necessary paperwork.
The 6-4, 208-pound Randle was the Tigers' leading wideout in 2011, with 917 receiving yards on 53 receptions. He gained 17.3 yards per catch last season after gaining 16.5 yards per reception in ’10 and 15.7 yards per reception in ’09.
Randle had four 100-yard receiving games last season but also had 55 or less yards in seven games. He caught just 18 passes for 260 yards in his final five games after starting the season with 638 receiving yards in his first seven games.
According to Randle's father, the NFL graded his son as a second-round pick.
