Titans RB Chris Johnson's 1,047-yard season fell remarkably short of expectations. It is widely perceived that a combination of factors led to his regression, including a late start because of his holdout; subpar run-blocking; and perhaps regular wear and tear hurting his explosiveness.
While the first and third options have merit, it is the second option that the Titans can control. Head coach Mike Munchak said during his season-ending radio show that the club could look to bolster the O-line early in the draft. Our sources indicate, however, that with so many needs on defense, it is more likely the club waits until the later rounds — as it usually does — to target O-linemen.
Regardless of what happens in the draft, C Eugene Amano and OLG Leroy Harris must play better. But don't expect the pair to flip-flop positions, as they did prior to the 2010 campaign. We hear Amano might be better at guard, but Harris has trouble snapping.
