Lions GM Martin Mayhew said on Thursday that the team has re-signed all three coordinators and will look to bring back some key players when free agency begins.

Offensive coordinator Scott Linehan, defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham and special-teams coordinator Danny Crossman all agreed to new deals, and Mayhew said he is ""working on the rest of our assistant coach's contracts right now."

The team has several key players who will be free agents, including DE Cliff Avril and OLT Jeff Backus. WR Calvin Johnson has one year remaining on his deal, but the team would like to work out a long-term deal with the All Pro.

"This year in free agency's going to be a little bit different," Mayhew told reporters on Thursday. "We're going to be more focused on bringing our guys back more so than going out and trying to find five or six guys from somewhere else."

As for Johnson, the GM said: ""We definitely plan to work on an extension with him in the near future. That's what our plan is."
