With head coach Pete Carroll recently mentioning the need for more speed at linebacker as a top priority, the situation at that position has gotten a lot more interesting. Two starters — David Hawthorne in the middle and Leroy Hill on the weak side — are among the team's 18 unrestricted free agents. Hawthorne was the team's leading tackler for the third season in a row, and Hill was a legitimate force who increased his worth by staying on the field in nickel situations. But can the team keep both of them, with so many other key players also becoming free agents? "They both like it here, but money talks," one team insider said. "That actually could work to the team's advantage, because both players are probably worth more to the Seahawks — because of the way they are used in this defense — than on the open market. Hawthorne was pretty beaten up this year, and that could cut down his market value."
