Texans FB-TE James Casey's breakthrough performance against the Saints in Week Three seems like ages ago.

Casey, who injured his pectoral muscle and lost his starting job to Lawrence Vickers less than three weeks after his monster outing (5-126-1) in New Orleans, had caught only two passes and made one start since Week Six — until Houston's season finale against the Titans.

With head coach Gary Kubiak resting his starters, Casey again showed his natural athleticism and pass-catching ability against Tennessee, having his way with Titans rookie MLB Colin McCarthy most of the afternoon (Casey caught seven passes for 91 yards).

Although Vickers is the stronger blocker, Casey is a much better receiver. Vickers' critical drop in the red zone in Week Five against the Raiders might have cost his team a victory.

We hear Casey's Week 17 outing was a reminder of how dangerous he can be. Don't rule out the possibility of Kubiak using him as an extra wide receiver in the postseason.
