An integral part of this year's Patriots defense, dubbed a "no-name" unit by many, has been DT Kyle Love. As an undrafted rookie last season, Love played in nine games. This season, he has played in all 16 games with 13 starts, forming a strong interior with Vince Wilfork. Love had 33 tackles, three sacks and five tackles for loss this season.
The way we hear it, Love is a big-effort player with a nonstop motor whose job it is to take on two blockers. You won't hear Love's name a lot in terms of making tons of plays, but he is helping others make plays, mainly by freeing up linebackers to make tackles up the middle.
"I've seen him as a rookie and what he's done and how hard he works from a rookie until now and the thing is he's still getting better," Wilfork told reporters on Wednesday. "I think he'll probably have a promising career wherever it may be because of just how hard he works."
