It appears all is well at wide receiver in Detroit, as star wideout Calvin Johnson returned to practice Thursday after missing two days with an Achilles injury.

Johnson also missed the bulk of practice leading up to Detroit's 45-41 loss at Lambeau Field, but the missed time failed to hinder him, as he compiled 244 receiving yards and a touchdown.

On Wednesday, rookie WR Titus Young, an important part of the passing game, also returned to practice. Young was out Tuesday with a shoulder injury after notching just 24 yards on four receptions against the Packers. Young and Johnson combined to compile 2,288 receiving yards with 22 touchdowns this season.

It's been a week full of scares for the Lions, as RB Kevin Smith and TE Tony Scheffler collided during practice on Wednesday, only to return to the playing field that same day. Smith has been productive ever since joining the Lions in November, averaging 50.9 rushing yards on 4.9 yards per carry. Scheffler posted 347 receiving yards and six touchdowns on the season, including a season-high 65 receiving yards at Green Bay in Week 17.

On defense, S Louis Delmas (knee) was listed as a limited participant in practice Thursday. CB Chris Houston (knee) was also limited. Both players were limited on Wednesday as well.

The way we see it

Johnson's return, while expected, is nonetheless a positive. Now the focus turns to whether Delmas can return to the lineup. He's missed the last five games.
