Bears special-teams coordinator Dave Toub will interview for the Dolphins' head-coaching position, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune.

"I know one of the things Dave would like to do is some day be a head football coach and hopefully he has that opportunity some day," Bears head coach Lovie Smith said Monday.

Toub just completed his seventh season as the Bears' special-teams coordinator. According to the Dallas Morning News' ranking system, the unit finished No. 1 overall in 2006 and '07.

The Dolphins fired Tony Sparano during the season and Todd Bowles was the interim head coach.
