Likely future Hall of Fame TE Tony Gonzalez will not retire at the end of the season, nor will he change teams. The Falcons announced Sunday morning they signed Gonzalez to a one-year contract extension. Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reported that it is a one-year, $7 million contract extension.
Gonzalez, who turns 36 at the end of February, has 79 catches for 867 yards and seven touchdowns this season in 15 starts. He was set to be a free agent after the season.
Gonzalez's 13,330 career receiving yards are 11th all-time and the most among active players. He has 1,148 career receptions, which is second all-time to Jerry Rice.
