Falcons RB Michael Turner has been the tough, dependable and hardworking backbone for the team in the four years since he became the first marquee free-agent signing of the new regime. However, Turner has endured one of the least productive stretches of his Falcons career since Week 12, and there is concern about him heading into the postseason. He has not had a run longer than 16 yards in the past five games and is on pace to finish the season with his lowest yards per game average and touchdown total since joining the team before the 2008 season. The Falcons, who are locked in as a wild-card team, believe they might have to lean on Turner at times to grind out tough playoff wins on the road. He has appeared on the injury report every week since Week 13 with a groin issue and underwent groin surgery in the offseason, but Turner has said his struggles and his health issues are not related.
