The Bills have gotten significant contributions from their rookie class this season, most notably DT Marcell Dareus. But now that he is healthy, CB Aaron Williams is starting to show why he was the Bills' second-round pick.
Williams has started four games in the past five weeks, taking over for the struggling Leodis McKelvin. The physical corner had his first career interception in the win over the Broncos in Week 16. He has five passes defensed and a forced fumble.
The way we hear it, the Bills are very high on Williams, who could continue to be the starter next season, but the cornerback position suddenly might be a top priority in the offseason for a team that believes you can never have enough corners. Veteran Terrence McGee, who is on injured reserve, has not played in more than 11 games since 2008. McKelvin has been relegated to special-teams coverage and punt returns. The Bills, who finished third in the league last season in passing yards allowed, are now 15th.
