The Patriots signed former Dolphins FB Lousaka Polite on Tuesday and re-signed DB Malcolm Williams to the practice squad.

Polite, a veteran of seven NFL seasons, spent the last three with Miami. In his career, he has 296 rushing yards and 233 receiving yards.

Williams, a seventh-round pick by the Pats in April's draft, played in the Patriots' game against the Redskins on special teams. He has spent time on the practice squad.

The way we see it

With Logan Mankins out for Sunday, OG Donald Thomas will likely take his place, putting the Patriots in need of a blocking back for running situations. Polite is a veteran who had a tryout with the Pats in late September.
