The Patriots' offensive, defensive and special-teams players of the week from their Week 16 win over the Dolphins.
Offense: WR Wes Welker
With Dolphins CB Vontae Davis getting injured, Welker took advantage, finding space and making clutch catches. Tom Brady targeted Welker a whopping 19 times and Welker finished with 12 catches for 138 yards, with a long of 42 yards. He had four catches on third down, including the one to seal the game late in the fourth quarter.
Defense: LB Jerod Mayo
In his second game since receiving a five-year contract extension, Mayo again proved how valuable he is to the Patriots' defense. He led the team with 13 tackles, including two sacks and a tackle for loss. CB Devin McCourty may have been abused for a few big plays, but he did get a key interception and recorded four passes defensed.
Special teams: P Zoltan Mesko
Mesko was busy on Saturday, especially in the first half. He finished with six punts but did a good job pinning Miami back. Mesko's six punts had a net average of 48.2 yards, and he dropped four inside the 20-yard line. Mesko's long on the day was a 65-yarder.
