PFW executive editor and resident Packers expert Dan Arkush selects Green Bay's players of the week on offense, defense and special teams in the team's 35-21 Week 16 victory over the Bears.
Offense: QB Aaron Rodgers
After completing only 52.3 percent of his passes in the previous two games, Rodgers returned to his MVP-caliber form, setting a career high and tying a franchise record with five TD passes in the Packers' victory over the Bears. He completed 21-of-29 passes (72.4 percent) for 283 yards and zero interceptions (142.7 passer rating). Rodgers also rushed four times for 18 yards, including one scramble in which he made Bears star LBs Brian Urlacher and Lance Briggs literally trip over each other.
Defense: LOLB Clay Matthews
Matthews was typically relentless and instinctive, registering a brilliant interception on a pass intended for Bears FB Tyler Clutts that put a halt to an early Bears drive. He also had a forced fumble, six tackles and a QB hurry.
Special teams: P Tim Masthay
Masthay continued his strong punting as of late, dropping three of his four punts inside the 20-yard line and limiting Bears return ace Devin Hester to two returns for seven yards. Jarrett Bush deserves special mention for registering three of the Packers' seven special-teams tackles.
