Cowboys QB Tony Romo left the team's Week 16 game against the Eagles because of a hand injury suffered in the first quarter.

Romo was hit by Eagles DE Jason Babin in Dallas' opening drive. He left the game after the play and went back to locker room for X-rays. The team has not said anything about his availability, but Romo did return to the sideline without a cast on his hand, though he was wearing a baseball cap instead of a helmet. X-rays were negative.

Stephen McGee replaced Romo in the lineup, making this his first extended playing time of the season.

The way we see it

With the Giants winning earlier on Saturday, the Cowboys game vs. the Eagles is essentially meaningless. The entire NFC East comes down to Dallas' game in New York next Sunday. Because of that, it makes little sense for Romo to return to action.
