49ers PK David Akers made a 44-yard field goal with 12:42 remaining in the fourth quarter of the team's Week 16 game against the Seahawks, giving him an NFL record 41 made field goals this season.

Akers, playing in his first season in San Francisco after 12 years as an Eagles, surpassed Neil Rackers, who made 40 field goals for the 2005 Cardinals. The Niners kicker has made at least one field goal in each game this season and has five games with four three-pointers in 2011.
