There has been a lot of talk this week about the high level of play from LB London Fletcher and whether he will return next season at age 37. His impossible age-defying act has continued through another fantastic season and it leads into his free agency in March. Defensive coordinator Jim Haslett has campaigned for Fletcher's return to GM Bruce Allen, and Fletcher has said he would like to be back. It seems like he will be back next season as the anchor on a LB unit that features three other starters — Brian Orakpo, Ryan Kerrigan and Perry Riley — who are aged 25 or younger. But losing also has worn on Fletcher. The Redskins have lost 37 of their past 54 games, and Fletcher takes that personally. His window for winning a title, even at the remarkable level he's playing at, is closing. But given that Fletcher has started 181 consecutive games and he says he doesn't worry about his age, perhaps he has two seasons left as a very good player.
