The season-ending injuries suffered by Jon Beason and Thomas Davis in Weeks One and Two decimated the Panthers' linebacker corps. Carolina had to turn to backups early on, but fourth-year veteran Jordan Senn waited until even more injuries piled up at the position before he was finally given a chance to make his first career start. Senn has started each of the past five games — the last four on the weak side after filling in for Dan Connor in the middle in Week 11 — and has greatly impressed head coach Ron Rivera, who has been emphasizing the fact that many of the team's players have a chance to win or lose jobs for next season based on their performance over the last portion of the season. The Panthers have been desperate for help at linebacker, and Senn, who is due to become an unrestricted free agent after the season, can provide it. He's a player Rivera is going to want to keep.
