Many looked at the two sacks recorded by the Broncos in the Week 15 loss to the Patriots as indicating a problem with the pass rush, but we hear the team was actually more concerned about its pass coverage in the game. New England QB Tom Brady has made several teams look foolish over the years because of his ability to find open receivers quickly, and the Broncos were no different, allowing 310 net yards through the air. According to defensive coordinator Dennis Allen, the issue with stopping Brady wasn't as much a lack of pressure in the backfield, but open receivers. "(Brady) gets rid of the ball so quickly," Allen said. "That's why it's important to have tight coverage early in the down and make sure you know what your responsibilities are. We had a couple busted assignments on guys, and when you play against good teams, you can't do that." The team hopes to have S Brian Dawkins back for its final two games, an addition that will likely help the pass coverage.
