As he approaches the end of his 15th season, it's not known whether Buccaneers CB Ronde Barber will continue his career.
Barber signed a one-year deal last offseason and is on the verge of starting all 16 games for a 12th consecutive season. He leads the Bucs in interceptions with three and they are a young team that needs more, not fewer, veteran leaders like Barber.
Barber's decision-making process on whether to return to the Bucs for a 16th season will be affected by the call ownership makes on embattled head coach Raheem Morris, a close friend of Barber's. The sense our sources have is Barber will re-sign with the Bucs in 2012 if Morris returns. Barber is much less likely to return, however, if Morris is dismissed. We hear the Bucs have not made a decision regarding Morris' future, but with the team in the midst of an eight-game losing streak, Morris' chances of returning for a fourth season as head coach have significantly diminished.
