The Dolphins have placed OLB Koa Misi on Injured Reserve because of a shoulder injury suffered in Week 14. He missed last Sunday's victory over the Bills as a result, and now will be out for the final two weeks of the season.
Misi, who started nine games for Miami this season, ended the season with 34 tackles and a sack. Both numbers were a dropoff to his rookie season of 2010, when he had 41 tackles and 4.5 sacks.
Taking his place on the roster is QB Pat Devlin, an undrafted rookie from Deleware, who had been on the Dolphins' practice squad.
The way we see it
Veteran Jason Taylor had been replacing Misi on passing downs and the team may go with a nickel look often against the Patriots on Sunday. Misi had an average season, but nothing spectacular as he continues to improve his pass rushing. The key move here may be the addition of Devlin, one of the highest-touted undrafted players and we could see him play in one of the last two games.
