USC junior OT Matt Kalil said Thursday night that he told coach Lane Kiffin that he has decided to forgo his final season with the Trojans and will make himself available for the 2012 NFL draft.
The All-American left tackle is considered to be one of the top O-linemen in this year's draft. His brother, Ryan, was also an All-American at USC and currently plays for the Carolina Panthers, where he is considered to be one of the top centers in the NFL.
Matt reportedly is one of four USC juniors — along with QB Matt Barkley, S T.J. McDonald and DE Nick Perry — who could turn pro early.
Kalil, 22, started the past two seasons and did not give up a sack in 2011.
