In the past six weeks or so, SS Adrian Wilson appears to have regained his Pro Bowl-caliber form after having a hard time initially adapting to defensive coordinator Ray Horton's revamped scheme. "He finally bought into what Horton wants," one team insider said of Wilson, who is being asked to fill a more conventional safety role with more coverage and less blitzing responsibilities. "He was being used differently, and when the whole team was not playing well early on, I think he was starting to wonder a little bit just what was going on. But the light seemed to go on for everybody after the Steelers game (in Week Seven), when a lot of Pittsburgh players made a point of coming up to the guys to tell them to have patience with Ray." Wilson, we hear, got the message and has been impressing coaches by showing up early just about every day to get a better handle on a scheme that continues to evolve.
