It is hard to pinpoint exactly what was plaguing Titans RB Chris Johnson for much of the season. He was clearly lacking punch, and quickly going down on first contact, but the play of the offensive line also was deserving of blame. All of that has gone by the wayside the past two weeks, as Johnson has regained his old form and the Titans have stormed into the AFC playoff picture. In Johnson's recent surge, he has looked much more explosive and is absorbing the first hit and continuing forward. Moreover, his cuts have been more sudden and his overall elusiveness in space seems to have improved. It doesn't hurt that Johnson's O-line has picked it up considerably. A dominant pass-protecting unit, the Titans' blockers have gotten much more push in recent weeks to help out their star back. ORT David Stewart, who missed Week 12 with a calf injury, was tremendous at creating a push against Buffalo as Johnson went off for a season high in rushing yards.
