The NFL Players Association (NFLPA) announced Wednesday that the inaugural AstroTurf NFLPA Collegiate Bowl on Jan. 21, 2012 will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network, which will be re-branded from VERSUS on Jan. 2.

The AstroTurf NFLPA Collegiate Bowl is expected to include 100 top draft prospects in an all-star game at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. ET.

Teams will be coached by Super Bowl-winning coaches Tom Flores and Dick Vermeil. Players will participate in several events during the preceding week to enrich their overall experience and prepare them for becoming professionals in the business of football.

"We are thrilled that NBC Sports Network has signed on to become our broadcast partner for the AstroTurf NFLPA Collegiate Bowl," said Clark Gaines, assistant executive director of the NFLPA. "The national exposure that these draft prospects will gain thanks to the visibility that NBC Sports provides will be an invaluable asset to them as they transition out of college."
