The Giants signed OT Tony Ugoh to take the roster spot of OT Stacy Andrews, who was placed on injured reserve, the team announced Wednesday.
Andrews was hospitalized Saturday with blood clots in both lungs. He played in nine games this season for the Giants, with three starts.
Ugoh, a 2007 second-round pick of the Colts, has played in 37 NFL games, though none in the past two seasons. This fall, he was in the United Football League, playing for the Las Vegas Locomotives.

The Giants badly need OT depth with Andrews and Will Beatty out for the rest of the season. Ugoh has starting experience with the Colts and should be serviceable if he's needed to play this season.
