Here is a look at how the Patriots' first-year players performed in the team's Week 13 win over the Colts.

OT Nate Solder (first round, 17th overall) — Solder started at right tackle, with Sebastian Vollmer sidelined with an injury. Solder had some struggles with the Colts' speed rushers but held his ground for the most part. Solder also played as the team's extra tight end on some offensive plays.

RB Stevan Ridley (3, 72) — Ridley couldn't take advantage of an increase in touches against a bad defense. He led the team with eight carries for 33 yards (4.1-yard average). It was encouraging to see Ridley get extra carries, but the Patriots likely would have liked to see more production.

OT Marcus Cannon (5, 138) — Cannon filled in at right tackle on the plays in which Solder was eligible as a tight end.

DB Sterling Moore (undrafted) — Moore lost his starting spot to WR Matthew Slater, who was playing safety for the first time in his career, and came into the game late at corner. Moore got turned around by Colts WR Pierre Garcon on a 33-yard touchdown. He finished the game with one tackle.

NotesQB Ryan Mallett (3, 73) and RB Shane Vereen (2, 56) were inactive. ... LS Danny Aiken (undrafted) was perfect on snaps.
