Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said at his Monday press conference that second-year TE Andrew Quarless will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. Quarless, who was injured late in the Packers' 38-35 victory over the Giants, will need surgery, according to McCarthy. Quarless had one catch for seven yards Sunday before being removed from the game. He finishes the season with three catches for 36 yards.

In other injury news, McCarthy said he expects CB Charles Woodson to be cleared to play this Sunday against Oakland after going through the NFL's protocol for concussion symptoms this week. RB James Starks (ankle) could be challenged to be ready for practice on Wednesday, McCarthy said.

The way we see it

Quarless had been making himself very useful in a blocking role in two-TE formations and was just starting to see more action as a receiver when the injury occurred.
