The Jaguars have claimed the rights to WR Taylor Price, a 2010 third-round pick who was released by the Patriots on Saturday.

Price played in only four games with the Patriots in two seasons. He caught three passes for 41 yards in his Patriots career, all in the Week 17 finale in 2010. In three games this season, Price was held without a catch, primarily playing special teams.

The Jaguars get a speedy receiver who came from a relatively simple passsing offense in college at Ohio and came into training camp late last year because of the school's academic schedule. He failed to stay healthy this season, bothered by a hamstring.

At receiver, the Jaguars have a good first option in Mike Thomas but little else established. With Brian Robiskie on injured reserve, the team is down to Jarett Dillard, Chastin West and Kassim Osgood at wideout.

The Jaguars play host to the Chargers on "Monday Night Football."
