The Eagles have added S Tom Nelson after placing Colt Anderson on injured reserve because of a knee injury.

Anderson, a special-teams ace, tore his ACL during the team's Week 13 game against the Seahawks. He led the Eagles with 10 special-teams tackles and was an impact player on both coverage and blocking units.

Nelson, who played with the Bengals in 2009 and '10, has 34 career tackles and one interception. He was in Cincinnati's training camp this season but did not make the 53-man roster.
