The Rams promoted QB Tom Brandstater from their practice squad Saturday, perhaps providing an indication that injured QB Sam Bradford won't be able to play Sunday at San Francisco.

Bradford is questionable with high left ankle sprain that he aggravated in last week's game against Seattle. He sat out Thursday's practice and participated on a limited basis in Friday's practice.

A.J. Feeley took the first-team reps in practice this week and would start if Bradford can't go Sunday.

The Rams waived Brandstater Nov. 9 but then re-signed him to the practice squad earlier this week. The second-year man has not played in a regular-season NFL game.

To make room on the roster for Brandstater, the Rams released veteran LB Ben Leber.
