The Titans have said they're happy with MLB Barrett Ruud and that he is the starter when healthy. Rookie MLB Colin McCarthy, who has started in Ruud's place two of the past three weeks as the veteran recovers from a groin injury, is making Tennessee reconsider. McCarthy has been terrific in Ruud's absence, leading the team in tackles the past three weeks and forcing critical takeaways in Weeks 11 and 12. Word is McCarthy has shown great dedication since being selected in the fourth round out of the University of Miami. A source close to the team said he is usually one of the first guys in the building and one of the last to leave. More importantly, he is making the impact plays the club was missing with Ruud in the lineup. Although head coach Mike Munchak has to be careful not to alienate a veteran, don't be surprised when the Titans bring Ruud back very slowly to allow McCarthy to continue making plays.
