Vikings RB Adrian Peterson will not play Sunday against the Broncos, according to head coach Leslie Frazier.
Peterson is dealing with high ankle sprain suffered in a Week 11 loss to the Raiders. He missed last week's game against the Falcons as well.
On the season, Peterson has 872 yards rushing and 12 total touchdowns.
The way we see it
High ankle sprains are particularly tough injuries, especially for a running back like Peterson who relies on sharp cuts, so it's not unexpected that Peterson will have to miss his second game. The offense did struggle in his absence last week, as the Vikes managed only five first-half first downs in the loss to the Falcons.
Toby Gerhart again will get the majority of the carries.
