QB Tim Tebow isn't the only former Florida Gator to be keying the Broncos' improvement since their Week Six bye. Like Tebow, DT Marcus Thomas made his first start of the season against the Dolphins in Week Seven, and his improved play has sparked the team's defense since he was inserted into the lineup. Playing alongside NT Brodrick Bunkley, Thomas has helped the Broncos' run defense improve noticeably since he became a starter. Weighing nearly 320 pounds and with good agility for someone his size, Thomas has the ability to team up with Bunkley and take up blockers, allowing the Denver defensive ends and linebackers to make plays in the backfield. Thomas is a free agent after the season and is playing well enough that it appears likely the team will try to re-sign him next spring.
