Here's a look at a key matchup heading into Sunday's battle between the Chiefs and Bears.
Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe vs. Bears coverage
Bowe has cooled off after a hot start to the season, but he still has the potential to go off if the Bears give him a chance to.
The Bears have mixed in man coverage along with zone for much of the season, and CB Charles Tillman could frequently be matched up with Bowe, who has good size, strength and hands, one-on-one. Tillman's strength is punching the ball out to cause fumbles and using his length to break up passes. He can outphysical smaller receivers, and Bowe's effort has been questioned at times — he didn't reach up to try to knock down or reel in a poor pass from QB Tyler Palko last week against the Steelers and it resulted in a game-sealing interception. Bowe isn't going to be pushed around easily, though.
Bowe led the league in receiving touchdowns with 15 in 2010, but he only has four this season and hasn't scored since Week Five. He isn't very elusive and probably isn't going to run away from Tillman or other Bears defensive backs. He will fight for yardage after the catch and the Bears will need to wrap him up to stop him.
