The Bears signed WR Earl Bennett to a four-year contract extension on Friday. Bennett was due to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
A fourth-year player out of Vanderbilt, Bennett has been limited to six games this season because of injury and has 18 catches for 276 yards and a touchdown.
Bennett was a teammate of Bears QB Jay Cutler in college and is one of the team's most reliable receivers.
The Bears extended the contract of OG-C Roberto Garza earlier this season. The most notable free agent-to-be is RB Matt Forté.
