After reportedly refusing to let QB Sage Rosenfels go, the Dolphins have waived him from the non-football injury list, his agent, Rick Smith, confirmed.
NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reported that the Dolphins did not want to cut Rosenfels, which would allow him the opportunity to possibly sign with the Texans, who were in need of a veteran quarterback after placing Matt Schaub and Matt Leinart on injured reserve.
Miami signed Rosenfels after placing Chad Henne on injured reserve. The team placed Rosenfels on the non-football injury list in October.
Rosenfels had strep throat and back issues with the Giants last season and was placed on injured reserve. After a few weeks of practice with Miami, Rosenfels decided he needed more time to rest and "allow (his) body to regain all requisite strength."
The Texans did sign QB Jake Delhomme this week. Rosenfels started 10 games for Houston between 2006-2008.
