Here's a key matchup to watch in the Week 13 game between the Patriots and Colts:
Colts WRs Reggie Wayne and Pierre Garcon vs. Patriots cornerbacks
Similar to their Week 11 game against the Chiefs, the Patriots might not be facing a good quarterback, but they will have to contend with a pair of talented receivers.
Despite poor play from their signalcaller, Wayne and Garcon are still dangerous receivers, having combined for 93 catches and 1,307 receiving yards and six touchdowns this season. On Sunday, they will have Dan Orlovsky throwing their way.
Against Tyler Palko, the Patriots still gave up chunks of receiving yards to Dwayne Bowe (7-87) and Steve Breaston (6-73).
It's no secret that the Patriots' strength does not lie in their secondary, but it has improved, and New England might get CB Devin McCourty back this week, which would be a big help against Wayne and Garcon.
Kyle Arrington has played well since being thrust back into a starting role. Arrington leads the league in interceptions. Antwaun Molden has started on the outside with McCourty out and he picked off a pass against the Eagles last Sunday.
Opposing quarterbacks, regardless of skill, have had success against the Patriots' secondary, and the Colts will try and take advantage of the most talented offensive players on their side of the field by getting Wayne and Garcon involved. The pair will provide a good test for the Patriots' cornerbacks as they prepare for the much better passing teams they will have to face in the playoffs.
