Tuesday was a busy day for the Vikings' front office. The team made nine roster moves, signing four players to the active roster, placing four players on injured reserve and adding a player to the practice squad.
The team signed WR Stephen Burton, LS Matt Katula, and safeties Jarrad Page and Andrew Sendejo. WR Michael Jenkins, LS Cullen Loeffler and safeties Husain Abdullah and Tyrell Johnson were placed on injured reserve. TE Mickey Shuler was added to the practice squad.
Burton has had stints on both the practice squad and active roster for the Vikings. Page was most recently with the Eagles, getting cut by Philadelphia earlier this season. Katula spent eight games with Patriots last season. Sendejo appeared in two games for the Cowboys in 2010.
The way we see it
These are roster moves that 2-9 teams entering rebuilding mode make. Placing veterans like Jenkins and Abdullah on injured reserve allows the coaching staff to get a look at young players like Burton and S Mistral Raymond as they prepare for the 2012 season.
