Rookies dominated the action in Week 11, as three first-year players were named Players of the Week on Wednesday.
In the AFC, the Offensive Player of the Week is Ravens second-round pick Torrey Smith. The wide receiver caught six passes for 165 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens' 31-24 win over the Bengals last Sunday. The Defensive Player of the Week is Broncos first-round OLB Von Miller, who had 10 tackles and 1½ sacks in the team's victory over the Jets. Patriots PR Julian Edelman was the conference's Special-Teams Player of the Week after scoring on a 72-yard punt return for a touchdown against the Chiefs.
The NFC also rewarded a rookie. Panthers fifth-rounder Kealoha Pilares is the Special-Teams Player of the Week, thanks to his 101-yard kickoff return for a touchdown against the Lions. He was joined on the Week 11 honors list by Lions RB Kevin Smith, who had 140 yards and three TDs to be named Offensive Player of the Week, and Seahawks DE Chris Clemons, who was awarded Defensive Player of the Week following his three-sack performance against the Rams.
