Arguably the Jaguars' greatest position of strength took a hit this week when WLB Clint Session was placed on injured reserve after suffering his second concussion of the season in Week 11. Jacksonville leads the league with 17 players on injured reserve. After a somewhat slow start, Session had come on strong of late. GM Gene Smith told the Florida Times-Union, "Clint brought energy to the field and was playing well, giving us an explosive blitzer who was a tempo setter against the run." The Jaguars signed veteran Kevin Bentley to take Session's roster spot, but reserve Russell Allen will take over the starting job. A dependable backup who played well the past two seasons when subbing for former injury-prone Jaguar Justin Durant, Allen is not as physical or dynamic a force as Session, but he is stronger in coverage. The Jaguars relied heavily on Session's blitzing ability and will need fellow 'backers Daryl Smith and Paul Posluszny to get after the passer more in Session's absence.
