Giants OLT Will Beatty will have surgery Thursday to repair a detached retina in his right eye, the team announced Wednesday.

The timetable for his return will be decided after the procedure.

Beatty, in his third season from Connecticut, has started all 10 games at left tackle for the Giants this season.

The way we see it

Beatty quietly has been the Giants' best lineman all season and it will be a big loss if he can't play for an extended period of time.

We assume that David Diehl would move from guard back to tackle, where he played the past few seasons and Kevin Boothe would play the OLG spot that Diehl has been filling. Stacy Andrews is also a possibility.
